Identifying Peer-Reviewed Articles

Peer-reviewed articles are published research articles written by experts for other experts. They usually have these characteristics:

  • Expert author(s)
  • In-text citations/footnotes/endnotes and references/works cited/bibliography
  • No ads or pictures (unless part of research)
  • Statistics, graphs, charts
  • Expert language...boring :)
  • Narrow focus
  • A little less current
  • Less biased
